What's Inside?
Japanese Mint: Japanese Mint, botanically known as Mentha canadensis, is a species of mint native to both North America and East Asia. This perennial has many uses, and Japanese Mint essential oil is steam distilled from its leaves and stems. Although similar to Peppermint, Japanese Mint essential oil contains a higher percentage of menthol, giving it a stronger, more intensely minty aroma. For this reason, Japanese Mint is often selected as an ingredient in commercially available lozenges. From sweet treats to savoury dishes, a drop of Japanese Mint can add its distinctive character and flavour for a refreshing taste experience.
Copaiba: Copaiba essential oil is obtained from an aromatic tropical tree native to South America. Indigenous peoples of northern and northeastern Brazil have used copaiba in traditional practices since the sixteenth century. Copaiba essential oil is widely used in cosmetic products such as soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes for its soothing properties on the skin. Apply topically with a carrier oil or moisturiser to help support visibly healthy-looking skin.
Bergamot Mint: Bergamot Mint essential oil is obtained from a flowering perennial with violet flowers and heart-shaped leaves. Despite its name, Bergamot Mint is not related to the fruit also known as Bergamot. Like Lavender, its main constituents include linalool and linalyl acetate. Blended with Fractionated Coconut Oil, it is ideal for a soothing post-workout massage. Its lavender-like, minty aroma is also a wonderful addition to a warm, relaxing bath.
Tea Tree: Tea Tree essential oil, often referred to as “melaleuca,” contains more than 92 different compounds and offers remarkable topical uses. Australian Aboriginal peoples used tea tree leaves for centuries, crushing them into a paste and applying it directly to the skin for a cooling effect. Tea Tree is best known for its cleansing and purifying properties. It helps keep nails and skin looking clean and cared for and supports a healthy-looking complexion. It is also often used to soothe occasional skin irritations and calm the skin.
Blue Tansy: Blue Tansy, also known as Moroccan Tansy, is a yellow-flowered annual Mediterranean plant native to northern Morocco. Its flowers contain an array of chemical constituents your skin will love. One of these is chamazulene, which gives Blue Tansy its distinctive indigo-blue color. The essential oil is also known for its skin-benefiting properties. Add a drop to a warm bath, use it with your favorite skincare products, or simply massage it into the skin.
Star Anise: Star Anise comes from an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. It usually grows only 4–6 metres tall, although it can reach heights of up to 20 metres. In Chinese culture it is called “eight-horned anise” or simply “eight-horned,” referring to its distinctive fruit with eight follicles. The main chemical constituent of Star Anise oil is anethole, which gives both the essential oil and the fruit their well-known liquorice-like aroma. As a key ingredient in doTERRA ZenGest™, Star Anise oil provides beneficial topical properties for abdominal discomfort.
Peppermint: Consistently one of dōTERRA’s most popular products, Peppermint is an oil that is always useful to have on hand. Peppermint essential oil adds a refreshing, minty flavor to desserts, drinks, smoothies, and even savory dishes. Its high menthol content—also characteristic of dōTERRA Peppermint oil—is what distinguishes the finest peppermint oils from many others on the market. Peppermint essential oil is also commonly used in toothpastes and chewing gums to support oral hygiene.
Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus radiata Leaf/Stem Oil, Eucalyptus polybractea Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus kochii Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus loxophleba Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus globulus Leaf Oil. Sometimes referred to as a gum tree, eucalyptus is an evergreen that can grow up to 15 metres tall. Its primary chemical constituents, eucalyptol and alpha-terpineol, contribute to a soothing massage experience. Eucalyptus essential oil promotes a relaxing, tension-easing sensation and also offers beneficial properties for the skin.
Helichrysum: With its honey-sweet aroma, Helichrysum essential oil helps rejuvenate and restore the skin. Also known as the “everlasting” or “immortal” flower, Helichrysum supports a youthful-looking complexion and is often used in cosmetic products. It has been used in natural practices since the time of the ancient Greeks, and its oil is highly valued and sought after for its many beneficial properties. Helichrysum essential oil helps reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and supports a radiant-looking complexion.
