Neroli Touch
Citrus x aurantium
dōTERRA Neroli Touch combines pure Neroli essential oil with Fractionated Coconut Oil in a convenient rollerball bottle. Distilled from the flowers of the bitter orange tree, Neroli essential oil has a sweet, fresh and floral aroma. Remarkably, the same tree also yields two other citrus oils—Petitgrain from the leaves and young twigs, and Bitter Orange essential oil pressed from the fruit peel. Even though other oils can be obtained from the same source, Neroli remains a true rarity within the citrus oil family. Neroli Touch can be used to soothe the skin and reduce the appearance of blemishes. Neroli essential oil is also well known for promoting relaxation and enhancing mood.

Sourcing
Why Egypt?
The bitter orange tree is native to East Asia. However, since being introduced to Egypt by Arabs in 642 CE, it has also flourished there. Although many orange trees around the world have since been altered through hybridisation, the Egyptian variety remains almost entirely unchanged.
How does it work?
From Egypt
The bitter orange tree is a hardy evergreen species. At least three essential oils are commonly obtained from it: Bitter Orange essential oil from the fruit peel, Petitgrain from the leaves and young twigs, and Neroli from the flowers. The flowers used to produce Neroli are carefully hand-picked from the trees. Once harvested, they must be steam distilled as quickly as possible to achieve the highest-quality essential oil and the best yield. The freshly harvested flowers are steam distilled shortly after picking to preserve their delicate aromatic profile.
