Uses

Directions for Use

For massage, mix 5 drops with 10 ml carrier oil. For a bath, mix 5 drops with 5 ml carrier oil. As a perfume, mix 1 drop with 10 drops carrier oil. For external use only.

Sourcing

Patchouli is a fairly hardy tropical plant. It tolerates hot climates well, but also requires plenty of water and some shade. Indonesia is one of the world’s largest exporters of patchouli.

Patchouli is a perennial shrub in the mint family. It grows to around one metre tall and produces small pink flowers. Its essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the plant. Freshly harvested leaves are left to air-dry for several days before distillation. Once dried, they shrink to only one-third of their original weight. After drying, the leaves are distilled for at least eight hours.
